We crafted our first weathervane and cupola in 1970. They still adorn the top of the barn on the little farm in Hudson, Maine. This was the beginning of the McElvain family of weathervanes and cupolas. The craftsmanship is unmatched and has evolved over the years to bring you more and more weathervane designs and styles - we currently offer over 100 different hand crafted weathervanes. The work is copied by many, but matched by few. We still offer the "Made in the USA" hand-made weathervane that is seen so rarely in weathervanes today.Our cupolas are crafted with the same skill and excellence as our weathervanes. When we couldn't find a quality cupola to withstand the test of time - we went ahead and created our own line of cupolas. The cupolas have evolved as well over the years and our cupola wood shop and factory now creates over 8 different series of cupola designs. They are made from select material and are topped with heavy gauge copper. They are designed to ventilate or just as a beautiful addition to your home, barn or garage.
