Nestled in the charming coastal town of Trenton, Maine, our seasonal retail shop, Bar Harbor Weathervanes, welcomes visitors along the scenic Bar Harbor Road (Route 3) - just moments before you cross onto Mount Desert Island and enter the breathtaking Acadia National Park.

Housed in a picturesque two-story historic farmhouse, the building itself is a delightful showcase of our craft: adorned with elegant cupolas and an array of gleaming weathervanes crowning the ridgeline, lining the fence, and dotting the yard like sentinels catching every breeze.

We're deeply grateful to call this corner of Maine home - one of the most stunning and iconic locations in the state - where the natural beauty of Acadia inspires us every day. History of Bar Harbor Weathervanes and Cupolas Inc.

Our company's founder created his first weathervane in 1971 - working out of his garage. He found that he had such a talent of bending and forming metals into weathervanes that he quit his day job to become a full-time coppersmith and weathervane maker.

Present Day Weathervane Designers

Bar Harbor Weathervanes is now onto the third generation of copper artists as we continue to add new weathervane designs and other products each year. Our hope is to continue making copper weathervanes and copper art for generations to come. We still use many of the techniques taught to us from our founder as well as new techniques we continue to learn being coppersmiths. We still hand-hammer each weathervane figure starting with a sheet of copper which we feel gives a detail like no other. We take pride in our craftsmanship and bringing a quality product that will last for years. Our weathervanes are made one at a time just for you.
