We make this beautiful copper pumpkin weathervane the old school way by hand hammering this pumpkin weathervane into special custom molding using 24-gauge copper to form two pieces of beautiful artwork. After we have formed both halves of your new copper weathervane, we carefully solder the two halves of the new weathervane figure together.
Once this pumpkin weathervane is formed and soldered, we then choose a turning point for our new weathervane and install the weathervane tubing with stop into the center of the weathervane so that it will be a functional weathervane.
Each of our pumpkin weathervanes are balanced so they will point into the wind to show weather direction. If you have a north wind blowing the weathervane will be pointing north straight into the wind. It is important to know that trees, heavy brush can cause wind swirling to the weathervane which will still head into the wind – just that the wind may be coming from different directions when Mother Nature makes this decree.

Overall Height of weathervane when mounted on a Weathervane Mount please add about 20” to the height of figure.
Overall Height of weathervane when mounted on a cupola with copper ball right on top of cupola please add about 10” to the height of figure.

Since we use real copper to make our weathervanes – each weathervane will tarnish quickly and will turn brown, black and then a patina green. This is natural and unless treated by the customer is going to happen. Mother Nature does what Mother Nature wants, and she loves her Patina Copper.

Special Note about our Handmade Weathervanes:
Each of our handmade weathervanes are Made to Order. Each weathervane is hand hammered into a mold that we have produced with our own weathervane artwork. The weathervane is cut out of the copper sheet and then soldered together. Final touches for making the weathervane include cutting, sanding, and putting a weathervane tube into the weathervane figure and to make a balanced turning point. We are proud to say that all our staff to include our retail folks have designed at least one weathervane or more since becoming part of our amazing family-based company.
